the Supreme Civil Appeals Court in Bahrain upheld the death penalty against a Bangladeshi man convicted of the murder of his compatriot. Two co-accused Bangladeshis had their prison terms reduced, but a third man, who was sentenced to death for his role in the slaying of Ridar Mian in October 2005, lost his appeal. The men were convicted of premeditated murder by the High Criminal Court after they lured the victim to a farm in Janusan by promising him sex with a woman.
