BANGLADESH: 3 TO FACE GALLOWS FOR KILLING 3 BDR MEN

a court in Thakurgaon, Bangladesh, convicted three people and sentenced them to death for killing three BDR members in 2004. The convicts are Yunus Ali, his younger brother Raju Islam and his (Raju’s) friend Raju Hossain. The court also fined Yunus Tk 50,000 and two other convicts Tk 25,000 each. According to prosecution, the convicts stabbed to death three BDR members –A lamgir, Sujon and Nur Nabi on February 5, 2004. After examining records and witnesses, district and sessions judge Md Joshon Ali handed down the verdict. Six other accused were acquitted as their guilt was not proved.
