Raushan Mondol by the Nari-O-Shishu Adalot, Jhenidah, for rape and murder, rendering the death sentence as void. Pronouncing the verdict, a division bench held that when the accused is a child under the Children Act 1974, irrespective of the offence alleged, the child must be tried by a Juvenile Court and not any other court.
