According to the prosecution, the convict demanded Tk 50,000 from his wife as dowry to start a business, but his wife Rabeya Akhter Pakhi refused to obtain the money from her parents. Emam became furious and hit on her head with a stone on August 30, 2002, killing her on the spot.
