M. Saleh Noor, 40, was condemned to death by an Additional Sessions court in Chittagong, Bangladesh, for killing his wife and their four-month-old daughter. According to the prosecution, Saleh strangled his wife Renu Akhter, 32, and daughter Amanat Noor to death on March 4, 2002 after she had found out about his illicit relationship with her sister. The victim's brother-in-law (sister's husband) filed a case against Saleh on March 6, 2002. Saleh surrendered to police 15 days after the murder and gave his confessional statement to the magistrate.
