BANGLADESH. THREE MEN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER

an Additional district and sessions court in Bangladesh sentenced Abdul Hamid, Zahid Hasan and Hafizul to death for the murder of a motor cyclist. According to the prosecution, they hired motor cyclist Yar Ali of Nathpur village on February 12, 1998 to carry them to Jessore. On the way there they murdered Yar Ali and fled with his motorbike. Police arrested Hamid and Zahid but Hafizul remained fugitive since the incident and was sentenced to death in absentia.
