BANGLADESH. TWO MEN SENTENCED TO DEATH IN JHALAKATI FOR MURDER

police constable Abdul Majid Hawlader, 50, and his brother-in-law Babul Mallik, 40, were sentenced to death by a court in Jhalakati, Bangladesh, after being found guilty of murder. According to the prosecution, with the help of others, Hawlader hacked his brother Abdul Mannan to death over a land dispute at Pashchim Galua village in Rajapur on January 4, 1998. Shahinur Begum, wife of Abdul Mannan, was also injured during the incident.
