in Bangladesh, Divisional Speedy Trial Judge Nurul Huda handed down the death penalty to Farhad, 18, and Shafiqul, 20, of Sardarkandi village for the rape and murder of a minor girl on the bank of river Padma in Munshiganj upazila a year ago. According to the prosecution, Khodeza, 10, was fishing in the Padma river on June 27, 2006, when the two dragged her into a field and raped and strangled her. During interrogation they admitted committing the crime.
