at the Third World Congress Against the Death Penalty in Paris, Nestor Dako said that the Government of Benin favours the abolition of the death penalty. Dako, nominated in January as the new Keeper of the Seals and Minister of Justice, said that the government was evaluating instituting a commission of specialists (composes of lawyers, magistrates, etc) to propose a text on the death penalty.
