British Prime Minister Tony Blair all but ruled out the prospect of bin Laden's being captured and tried in America.
Responding in Parliament to a question by Sir Teddy Taylor, a Conservative M East, who pointed out that the European Convention on Human Rights prevented extradition of an individual to a country which still had the death penalty, the prime minister admitted the UK government was examining "issues in connection with extradition and the death penalty" but added: "In respect of bin Laden, I suspect that is not a very serious consideration in this particular case."
