Shi Yuejun, 35, was sentenced to death for stabbing 12 people to death and injured five in a six-day spree in Tonghua in northeast China's Jilin Province.
The Intermediate People's Court of Tonghua also ordered Shi to pay more than 830,000 yuan (US$ 103,750) in compensation to the victims' families.
Shi killed most of his victims because of long-running disputes, prosecutors said.
