China executed three men for killing taxi drivers in and around the nation's capital, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.
Chen Xiangdong, Wang Yuanshuai and Dai Qichao robbed the drivers separately in Beijing and its suburbs, then killed them "to cover up their crimes," the report said. Details of the slayings were not given.
The three men were convicted by the Beijing Second Intermediate People's Court for the slayings, carried out in 2001 and 2002, the report said.
The report did not say how the three were put to death. China once carried out most executions by shooting prisoners in the back of the head or neck, but the use of lethal injection is increasing.
