CHINA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR HAMMER KILLINGS

the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhang Weiyi, 48, to death for killing his girlfriend and her friend with a hammer. Zhang was also ordered to pay 660,000 yuan (US $82,500) to families of the victims. Zhang beat the two women to death on November 8, 2005, during dinner. He then dismembered the bodies.
