The sentence for Hu, then a guard at the county post office, was suspended for two years. Hu allegedly stole the money on August 17, 2005, with the help of his nephew, Xu Yingchun, who was sentenced to six years and fined 10,000 yuan. Hu's niece, Xu Yichun, got a two-year jail term, suspended for three years, and was fined 10,000 yuan for helping Hu hide the stolen funds.
