concerning capital punishment, the Texas Democratic party platform states: "In order to promote public confidence in the fairness of the Texas criminal justice system, Texas Democrats support the establishment of a Texas Capital Commission to study the Texas death penalty system. During that study, we recommend a temporary moratorium of executions pending actions on the Commissions findings”.
