David Mark Hill was executed

David Mark Hill was executed by lethal injection in the state's death chamber in Columbia. Hill, 48, gunned down 3 people in a Department of Social Services office in 1996. Hill went on the shooting spree after his wife asked for a divorce and a social worker accused him of molesting a child. He lost custody of his children and blamed state workers. Killed were Jimmy Riddle, 52; Josie Curry, 35; and Michael Gregory, 30. Hill becomes the 1st condemned inmate to be put to death this year in South Carolina, the 5th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1104th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
