Inmates who claim they've been wrongly convicted could request DNA tests under a bill given key approval in the South Carolina House. The measure would let anyone convicted of a violent crime ask to have evidence tested for DNA to show their innocence. It needs another vote in the House. The Senate has already approved the bill. The bill would bring South Carolina in line with much of the rest of the country.
