Deepak Chakrawarty, a 30 year old Bangladeshi, was sentenced to death after being convicted of killing his younger brother, Ripon Chakrawarty, 24, with an axe on 2 February 2002 following an argument. Police arrested Deepak after the victim's sister, Shushama Chakrawarty, filed a case against him. Deepak later confessed to police that he killed his brother.
