District and Sessions Judge Mirza Rafi-uz-Zaman awarded the death sentence and a fine of Rs 1 lakh to Rafaqat Mahmood

District and Sessions Judge Mirza Rafi-uz-Zaman awarded the death sentence and a fine of Rs 1 lakh to Rafaqat Mahmood for the murder of his wife in Pakistan. Two others in the case were acquitted. Rafaqat, along with his brother Ahsan and his father Mubarik Hussain, were involved in murder of Rafaqat’s wife. According to FIR, Rafaqat’s wife was living separately due to a dispute between them. Rafaqat and his father and brother repeatedly approached her for settlement and asked her to come back home but she refused. The three men allegedly killed her when she was working in an agriculture field.
