Egyptian lawyer Hanan Mohammed Ali Rashed was sentenced to death for killing her husband in collusion with her lover. Rashed, 37, split her husband's skull open with an axe, after lacing his fruit juice with morphine, court sources said.
Rashed confessed to killing him in order to marry her primary school teacher boyfriend, Mohammed Abdel Salam, who was jailed for life for his part in the murder.
Rashed had been first sentenced to death in 2003, Egypt's supreme court upheld the ruling in agreement with the country's Sunni Muslim religious leader.
