the European Commission urged the Bangladeshi government to make its position clear on the death penalty and extra-judicial killing, and to improve the conditions in the prisons. The EC also emphasised the importance of reinforcement and strengthening of key institutions such as the Anti-Corruption Commission and the National Human Rights Commission.
