"il Giorno", "La Nazione" and "il Resto del Carlino", all newspapers belonging to the Riffeser group, had as their headlines "Death Penalty, yes, yes, yes" to give relevance to some of the stances taken in relation to the murder of young girl, Sara Jay. The headline had caused a stir and the directors had to answer to the criticisms of the newsroom coordinative commitee, affirming that: "we volontarily wanted a provoking headline that would give voice to the public's exasperation? Most of all we intended to make people reflect on the certainty of the penalty, which genuinely forms a black hole in this country's justice system. The directors of the newspapers certainly don't want the introductionof the death penalty, banned from the Constitution and by the European Charter, but mostly, by the consciense of civilised society".
