in its initial trial, the Shantou Intermediate People's Court in Guangdong Province sentenced Lin Mingguang, 36, to death; Yang Liangjun, to death with two years reprieve; and Lin Minghui to life imprisonment, the Yangcheng Wanbao (Yangcheng Evening News) newspaper reported. "Since 1996, Lin has organized gangsters to commit assault, financial swindling, gambling, and loan shark crimes. They also possessed guns illegally. The gangsters swindled 31.1m yuan," the newspaper reported.
