Seven people were executed after the Shanghai No 1 and No 2 Intermediate People's courts convicted them for robbery, rape and murder. Four of the convicts - Wu Hui, Tao Qingzhi, Xu Jian and Li Xiansheng - were from Anhui Province.
The quartet was alleged to have conducted over 10 robberies between November 20, 2001, and March 19, 2002 in Anhui and Shanghai.
They broke into people's homes and robbed cash, cell phones, jewellery and livestock, the Shanghai Daily reported.
