in India, Principal District and Sessions Court Judge, KC Kella, passed a death sentence in the Adityana triple murder case. Fatehsinh Chauhan, alias Ramlal, of Adityana village, was sentenced to hang for burning to death three of his son-in-law's kin in their sleep. Chauhan confessed and defended his act of “family honour”. In March 2008, Chauhan's daughter eloped with Dinesh Umradia. Chauhan demanded that either Dinesh or his parents pay him Rs 30,000 in exchange for his daughter's hand as is customary in Madhya Pradesh. Unable to pay, Dinesh refused so Chauhan set ablaze Dinesh's elder brother, Hasmukh, 42, Hasmukh's wife, Manju, 38, and physically challenged sister Rekha, 40.
