INDIA: DEATH SENTENCE FOR RAPE AND MURDER OF MINORS

a notorious criminal who killed three girls after raping them was awarded death sentence by the Bhavnagar Joint District Court in India. The accused, Chhagan Makwana, admitted raping eight girls of 6 to 9 years age, and killing three of them. He was arrested in 2005. According to information in one incident he lured a seven year old girl by giving her five Rs., he then raped and killed her. In another incident he lured a nine year old girl by giving her sugarcane and raped her after taking out her ornaments. He also confessed to raping another six girls and looting their ornaments.
