the Indian Supreme Court sentenced two people to death for murdering six members of a family in 1994 in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh. Sattan and Guddu, the accused in the case, allegedly shot dead the victims, including women and children, while they were sleeping in their house. The Court held that "the murder... was in a brutal... manner, the death sentence was awarded and the Allahabad High Court ought not to have altered it, " a bench of Justices Arijit Pasayat and Mukundakam Sharma observed. Sheo Pal Singh, Kunti Devi, Shiv Singh, Manjeet, Khushal and Neetu were sleeping in their house when the accused armed with firearms shot them dead as they suspected Sheo Pal Singh tipped police off about alleged anti-social activities.
