Jamaal K. Abeokuto, 24, was sentenced to death. He said a "voice" told himto kill Marciana Ringo, his girlfriend's 8-year-old daughter nearly 2 years ago. He apoligized: "I'm not this type of person. I don't know what happened. I can't explain it", but Baltimore County Circuit Judge Thomas J. Bollinger Sr. said: "The sentence is to be death". Abeokuto had asked that the judge, not a jury, sentence him. Marciana's body was discovered on Dec. 12, 2002, nine days after she disappeared.
