Jengchiang, alias Archong sae Chee, a 42 year old Chinese farmer in Chiang Rai, was sentenced to death by the Thai Criminal after being found guilty of possessing drugs with intent to sell. Jengchiang was caught in July 2003 after police posing as drug buyers contacted him to buy some 370,000 speed pills for 10.4 million baht. The suspect asked his clients to hand over the money at a hotel in Chiang Rai before contacting his accomplices to deliver the drugs to them. His accomplices managed to flee when they saw police. Three bags containing 370,000 speed pills were left in their car.
