John Alba was sentenced to death for the 2nd time for the 1991 fatal shooting of his wife. A Collin County jury deliberated for less than 2 hours before reaching its verdict. Mr. Alba, 45, was sentenced to death by a Collin County jury in 1992. But last summer he was awarded a new punishment hearing after an audit by Texas Attorney General John Cornyn found that his sentence was tainted by inappropriate testimony concerning ethnicity.
