JORDAN SENTENCES TWO TO DEATH FOR MURDER

the Jordanian Court of Assizes sentenced two men to hang after convicting them of murder. The court found a fine arts student at Yarmuk University guilty of killing a fellow student in the northern town of Irbid last year after he failed to repay a 500 dollar loan. The court also convicted a farmer of killing three sleeping Arab farms workers in the west of the kingdom four years ago. It jailed two of the farmer's brothers for 15 years for the attack in which four other workers were seriously wounded. The convicted men have the right to appeal.
