Jurors voted 12-0 to recommend Eric Simmons be executed for the 1st-degree murder, kidnapping and sexual battery of Debbie Tressler on Dec. 3, 2001. The 28-year-old Simmons left the court in handcuffs, as Judge T. Michael Johnson announced deadlines for filing information for the sentencing phase of the trial.
