Jurors who convicted a handyman of killing 2 women, 1 of them the body double for actress Janet Leigh, deadlocked on whether he should be sentenced to death or life in prison. Superior Court Judge Jacqueline Connor declared a mistrial after jurors said they were hopelessly deadlocked 11-1 in favor of Kenneth Dean Hunt receiving the death penalty. Hunt, whose conviction stands, will be sentenced to life in prison without parole unless Connor orders that a new jury be seated for the sentencing phase of the trial. She scheduled a hearing on the issue for April 24. On March 15 the same jury convicted Hunt, 34, of killing Myra Davis and Jean Orloff. Davis, 71, was Janet Leigh's body double in the classic Alfred Hitchcock film "Psycho." She was found raped and strangled in her burglarized West Los Angeles home in July 1988. The crime went unsolved until Orloff, 60, was found raped and strangled in her burglarized home 10 years later.
