KUWAITI SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR WOMAN’S KIDNAP AND VIOLENT RAPE

A Kuwait man has been sentenced to death by hanging for impersonating a police officer, kidnapping and raping an Asian woman under armed threat.
The plaintiff’s attorney urged the court to slam the suspect with a stiffer punishment than the life imprisonment verdict by the Court of First Instance. He argued that the man is an ex-convict with a history of crime.
After the judgment was pronounced by the Court of Cassation, the attorney commended the court for upholding the rule of law to serve as a deterrent to others with criminal tendencies.
