Bangladeshi Md Masud Rana Md Mofizuddin, 33, was sentenced to death by hanging after Judge Datuk Azahar Mohamed of the Malaysian High Court found him guilty of killing seven members of a family six years ago. Md Masud was jointly charged with Razaul Karim Mohd Soleman Ali Fakir, 38, for murdering seven people at a house in Taman Johor Jaya on July 28, 2001. Razaul was acquitted on June 2, last year, on the grounds that there was no evidence against him. The victims were K. Mangala Gowri, 42, S. Muniandi, 71, B. Vasagi, 27, S. Suppiah Amudavalli, 45, S.S.S. Perumal, 49, S.S. Letchimee, 51, and S. Ramaiee, 65.
