On October 27, a delegation from the Italian Senate, composed of Sen. Ersilia Salvato, Sen. Francesca Scopelliti, Sen. Salvatore Senese, Secretary of Hands off Cain Sergio d'Elia and Ambassador Giulio Vinci Giliucci of the Foreign Ministry went to Kyrgyzstan to drum up support for the resolution on the death penalty to be presented by the European Union at the 54th UN General Assembly. The delegation held talks with Deputy Prime Minister Boris Silayev, the President of the Parliament Usup Mukhambayev, and Justice Minister Nelia Beiscenalieva.
