PAKISTAN: MAN GETS CAPITAL PUNISHMENT FOR MURDER

in Pakistan, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mehr Tahir Nawaz sentenced Ilyas, of chak 71-JBalong, to death. According to the prosecution, Ilyas and his five accomplices (including Abdul Sattar and Muhammad Mustafa) shot Bilqis Bibi dead over a minor dispute in Thikriwala in 2008. The court ordered Ilyas to pay Rs 100,000 as compensation to the legal heirs of the deceased. The court acquitted Sattar.
