In Pakistan, President Asif Ali Zardari has stopped the implementation of the sentencing of prisoners on death row till September 30.
According to media reports, the law ministry has dispatched a letter bearing President Zardari’s directives to all prisons in this regard.
In Karachi central jail, three prisoners - Baram Khan, Atta ullah and Mohammad Azam - were to be sentenced to death this month on 17 and 18th July respectively.
According to DIG Jail Karachi, Nusrat Mangantan, hanging of two activists of a banned organization has also been stopped on the directives of President Zardari.
