Pan Rongyu, an unemployed man from Shanghai, was sentenced to death for multiple crimes, including assault and rape. The ruling was handed down by the First Intermediate People's Court of Shanghai Municipality. Pan, 41, was found guilty of robbery, rape and sexual assault, and was deprived of his political rights for life and stripped of all his personal belongings.
