Paul Nuncio, 32, of Latin-American origin, was executed by lethal injection. He had been accused of killing, and then sexually abusing a white woman of 61, Pauline Crownover, during the course of a robbery on 3rd December 1993. He was the 22nd person to be executed in the State during the year, No 221 since the State resumed executions in 1974. He was the 48th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 646 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
