Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Deputy Director General Rodolfo Caisip argued for the immediate lifting of the government-imposed moratorium on the execution of more than two dozens drug traffickers held in the Death Row of the Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City. Caisip said he personally believed the immediate execution of the death convicts would help guarantee the success of the anti-drug campaign being waged by the Arroyo administration. "It would help us a lot if big-time drug pushers whose death sentences have been affirmed by the Supreme Court are put to death as soon as possible. I personally believe the moratorium on the execution of these convicted criminals must be lifted," Caisip said. Caisip also admitted that although vigilante groups were summarily executing suspected drug pushers, the move made the job of law enforcement agencies easier to carry out. "The summary execution of big-time drug pushers will help reduce their number on the face of the earth. But I want to make it clear that we do not encourage it," he said.
