Roger James Berget, 39, white, was executed by lethal injection in the Oklahome State Penitentiary of McAlester. Berger had been convicted of killing Rick Patterson, a 33 year old white man, in 1985. He was the eighth person to be executed in the State during the year, the 27th since the State resumed executions in 1990. He was the 44th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 642 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
