Seven men were sentenced to death for drug trafficking and circulating counterfeit U.S bank notes in Vietnam's central Ha Tinh province. The defendants were part of a syndicate charged with the cross-border trafficking of 92 packages of heroin, two kilograms of opium, and circulating counterfeit U.S. bank notes worth $92,200 between 1997 and November 1999. The case was the biggest of its type in central Vietnam.
