Shi yongsheng, Qi Kexiong and Luo Yingfeng were executed after being sentenced by the Shanghai Higher People's Court for murder and robbery. In Shi's case, the accused came to know that his brother was having marital problems in April 2002. Shi's brother reportedly decided to teach his wife a lesson and gave him 20,000 yuan to "deal" with her. On 22 May 2002, Shi went to his brother's home and hammered the woman on the head and throttled her to death. Shi's brother was sentenced to 15 years' in jail. Details of Qi's and Luo's crimes were unknown.
