SINGAPORE: MAN TO HANG FOR THROWING WIFE FROM 13TH FLOOR

an odd job worker in Singapore was sentenced to hang after being found guilty of hurling his wife from the 13th floor of an HDB block. Tharema Vejayan Govindasamy, 40, was sentenced to death by the High Court for the July 1, 2007, murder. Justice Tay Yong Kwang rejected the defence's position that Tharema's 32-year-old wife could have committed suicide. The couple were divorcing, and forensic evidence revealed that he had hit her repeatedly, causing her tooth to dislodge.
