Terrorism cannot be abolished by force or military action but by changing the people's minds and the provision of a peaceful and dignified life to all citizens, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) lecturer Prof Dr Jamil Farooqui said.
He said that combating terrorism through force and violence was an old way to check crime and was the reason for capital punishment being very common in ancient societies.
