The Chengdu Railway Communications Intermediate Court, in Sichuan Province, China, sentenced Wang Pingxue to death with two years reprieve for trafficking and transporting drugs. His accomplices were sentenced to life imprisonment. It was reported that in April 2002, Wang, a peasant from Anhui Province, and others bought drugs in Yunnan for 55,000 yuan. They organized others to swallow the drugs and carry them to Chengdu. Railway police in Xichang arrested the men, confiscating 972 g of heroin.
