The city court in the Kazakh capital Astana found Askar Mambetov guilty of brutally killing six people.
"Askar Mambetov, 21, a native of the town of Kazalinsk in the southern Kyzyl-Orda Region, has been sentenced to death," Yerken Baymurzin, the judge who chaired the trial, told Interfax-Kazakhstan.
He said that the court had found Mambetov guilty under Article 96 on "premeditated murder", Article 179 on "robbery" and Article 120 on"rape".
"The sentence may be appealed within 10 days," Baymurzin said.
The bodies of five victims, the Karimovs, were found in January in the settlement of Koktal on the outskirts of Astana. The sixth body, that of a temporary worker at the enterprise that belonged to the Karimovs was found a little later.
The suspect worked at the enterprise that belonged to the Karimovs.
During the investigation he pleaded guilty.
