The deputy manager of a state-run company in China's northeastern Jilin province was executed for embezzlement. Deputy governor Wang Zhonglu was found guilty by the Hangzhou City Intermediate People's Court of taking bribes worth 390,000 yuan (47,101 dollars) from 1998 to 2000.
Wang was also the president of Zhejiang International Trust and Investment Corporation from 1993 to 1998 -- one of the many embattled investment arms of Chinese provincial governments later mired in huge debts.
During his tenure as deputy governor, Wang caused company losses worth 44.5 million yuan in several construction projects, state media reported, without elaborating.
