The first deputy chairperson of the Russian State Duma, Lyubov Sliska, said many [State Duma] deputies believe that those guilty of large-scale drug trafficking or acts of terrorism leading to the death of dozen thousands of people should be given the death penalty.
"Otherwise we shall never retaliate for the damage caused to people and outrageous crimes like those committed in America. The Council of Europe praised Russia's moratorium on the death penalty. I think that it is too early to get rid of it. We should restore the death penalty for this kind of crime," Sliska said.
